Rebuilding Together Baltimore is supported by the generous donations of local business, religious groups, government agencies, philanthropic foundations, non-profit organizations, and private individuals. Those donations come in many forms, including grants intended to support highly targeted objectives or specific projects, donated materials & supplies, volunteer hours, discounted service fees, in-kind donations, and direct financial contributions.

Why donate to Rebuilding Together?

We are extremely frugal with our funds and we are able to accomplish more work with less money than most non-profit organizations. Since the vast majority of our work is performed by volunteers who accept no payment for the hours they work, including the members of our Board of Directors, we are able to leverage more than $4,000 of market value out of every $1,000 dollars that we spend. At the national level, Rebuilding Together has been awarded a 4 Star (exceptional) rating from Charity Navigator, which means that we

"exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in our cause."

At the local level, we are even more efficient than the national office. Though we do not meet the Charity Navigator threshold for evaluation - they only rate charities with public support in excess of $500,000 - using the same criteria, Rebuilding Together Baltimore would receive an even higher efficiency rating.

Not only do we represent an excellent return on an investment, our mission of repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and working with the elderly to help them age in place, benefits local governments, health care facilities, and service organizations. By working with community members to improve neighborhoods, we help maintain property values, reduce crime, and increase home ownership. Our mission to help the elderly and disabled "age in place" by making their homes warmer, drier, and safer, limits fall related injuries and elder care issues, thereby reducing the need for medical care and related social services.

So, your donation to Rebuilding Together Baltimore will offer direct, as well as, indirect assistance - improving the health, safety, and emotional well-being of those we serve, while reducing the costs of government and other publicly funded assistance programs.
