Rebuilding Day 2008 - Saturday, April 26th, was National Rebuilding Day, when Rebuilding Together affiliates in more than 200 cities and towns across America work to preserve affordable home-ownership and revitalize older communities. In the Baltimore area, our target neighborhoods were in the City and Turner Station in the County. More than 1,000 amazing volunteers, including Derrick Mason of the Baltimore Ravens, repaired more than 40 homes and completed more than a dozen community projects during this annual event. Rebuilding Together Baltimore - is a non-profit, non-sectarian, volunteer based organization that works in partnership with neighborhood organizations, local sponsors, government, business, faith-based groups, professional contractors, and individual volunteers. Our mission is to preserve and revitalize houses and communities, assuring that low-income homeowners, from the elderly and disabled to families with children, live in warmth, safety, and independence. There is no cost to qualified homeowners for the services that we provide.
National Organization - at the national level, Rebuilding Together helps to organize and promote the work of more than 235 local affiliates in 955 cities and towns across America. The cumulative impact of our work has resulted in the repair and rehabilitation of more than 105,000 houses and non-profit facilities involving over 2.7 million volunteers and more than 27 million hours of volunteer time.
